Who will my student be working with?

Every strategy session, essay review, and planning conversation is handled directly by me. This approach allows me to truly understand each student’s strengths, goals, and aspirations, and to provide thoughtful, consistent guidance every step of the way.

Do you only work with students applying to selective colleges?

No. I work with students applying to a wide range of colleges and programs. While I have experience supporting students pursuing highly selective institutions, my focus is not solely on prestige. My priority is fit. Every student’s goals, strengths, and aspirations are different, and I tailor my guidance accordingly. Whether a student is aiming for a top-ranked university, a strong state school, or a specialized program, my role is to help them build a thoughtful, strategic application that reflects who they are and positions them for success.

On average, how many colleges do students apply to?

The number of schools or programs varies depending on each student’s goals, academic profile, and level of selectivity. There is no one-size-fits-all number. For undergraduate admissions, most students apply to approximately 10–15 colleges, carefully balanced across reach, target, and likely options. For medical and law school applicants, students typically apply to 10–25 programs, depending on competitiveness, geographic preferences, and specialty interests. Graduate school applicants generally apply to around 10 programs. Though, this can vary based on the field and level of specialization. My approach is always strategic rather than excessive. Together, we build a thoughtful, well-balanced list that maximizes opportunity while remaining focused and intentional.

Do you only work with students that have high standardized test scores or are at the top of their class?

While strong grades and test scores can be an asset, they are only one part of the admissions process. Colleges and graduate programs look for much more than numbers. They value character, initiative, growth, and authenticity. I am committed to helping every student present a thoughtful, cohesive application that highlights their strengths, experiences, and potential. Whether a student is at the top of their class or has taken a less traditional path, we focus on building a strategy that reflects who they are and where they want to go.

On average, how many sessions do students need?

The number of sessions varies depending on the student’s needs, goals, and timeline. Some students benefit from ongoing guidance throughout high school or their graduate program application process, while others may only need targeted support for essays, test planning, or interviews. On average: * High school students often work with me for 15–25 sessions across junior and senior years. * Medical and law school applicants typically schedule 15–30 sessions, depending on the number of applications and the level of guidance desired. * Graduate school applicants usually need 10–15 sessions. Every plan is customized, ensuring that each student receives the right amount of support to feel confident and fully prepared.

What role do parents play in this process?

Parents play an important supportive role, but the process is student-centered. I work directly with the student on all aspects of the application, from brainstorming essays to planning strategy and preparing for interviews. Parents are welcome to ask questions, provide context, and stay informed, but my goal is to empower the student to take ownership of their journey and develop the confidence to navigate the admissions process independently. I keep parents in the loop on progress and milestones, ensuring everyone feels informed and supported without taking away from the student’s voice and agency.

Where will sessions be held?

Sessions are held virtually on Zoom, so students and families can meet with me from anywhere. I offer video or phone sessions depending on your preference, making it easy to fit guidance into busy schedules.

How do we schedule and communicate with you?

All scheduling and communication is handled directly with me. We can coordinate sessions via email, phone, or video conferencing, whichever works best for your family. I am responsive to questions and updates between sessions, so you always have direct access for guidance, feedback, or support throughout the process. Note: Expect a response within 24 hours. This approach ensures continuity, consistency, and a personal connection. You will always be working with me directly.

Do you offer any additional discounts?

I am committed to making my services accessible, especially to students from underrepresented or marginalized backgrounds. Similarly, families who are concerned about finances are encouraged to reach out to me directly. This process ensures that every student can receive guidance while maintaining the quality and integrity of the support I provide.

How do we pay you, and what is your cancellation policy?

Payment is made via Venmo within 24 hours of each session. To make the process simple and easy to track, I ask that all families have Venmo set up prior to our first meeting. For families who prefer additional convenience or want to avoid missing payments, hours may be paid in advance. Prepaid sessions are tracked transparently and applied as they are used, giving families peace of mind and ensuring continuity of support. Because I work with a limited number of students and reserve time exclusively for each family, I require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be billed at the full rate.
